Brekt is saying we are gonna take away the illusion. We are just a group of people in a room who are telling a story.
We express our awareness of being watched. We can talk to our audience we can warm up in front of them, laying bare the meanings of production. It shows the production isn’t polished and shows the gritty ness.
Actors performing in Brecht play usually take on more then one character. Brechtian actors explore different postures and different ways of moving to create bold and physical characters. In making these bold choices actors are making a social and political comment about the character and their place in society. As Brecht was a communist his commentary is always politically charged
